If you are an existing member of JS PACS, thanks much for migrating over to the new forum. If you are new, welcome. Enjoy the discussion forum and the rest of the site.

If you have and suggestions on what you would like to see, let me know, this new format is much more functional than the old board.

Thanks again for being a part of JS PACS.

Hi John

There may not be anyone interested but me .. but can we add a spot to deal with training?

Let's face it, you can spend billions, get all the bells and whistles, have the geekiest technology out there. But if you don't spend some time and $$ on getting users properly prepared to use the system and securing their buy-in, your wonderful PACS (or RIS or SR) implementation will be a sluggish, painful experience that won't improve over time.

Thanks

That is a great idea. A section on training would be useful. I am responsible for training at my facility and there are some horror stories that I have had with some users.

It would be interesting to hear how some members cope with training issues and what their methods of training are.

I personal train based on the user. During the first few minutes of training, I figure out if the user is a hands on learning, a 'you show me and I'll copy it" learner or even the "Lets get this over with because I already know it user but I'll be back in a week because I forgot" kind of learner.

There are all different types and we need to know how to handle each one.
